Like all educational institutions, Covid19 continues to make challenging when planning for the upcoming academic year. Though every effort has been made to provide accurate and reliable information, it is still possible that additional changes may occur prior to the start of classes on Sept 20.

Accordingly, we would ask you to please check back before classes begin, and click here to keep informed on the latest updates from the OSTS.

About Us

The OSTS was founded in 1964 as part of the Ottawa Presbytery of the United Church of Canada to provide theological formation to lay Christians. Over the years, it became an independent institution, pursued a more ecumenical mission and incorporated a larger interfaith perspective. Today, the OSTS opens its doors to all who have an interest in deepening their understanding of theology and spirituality.

The OSTS has the official support of the Ottawa Presbytery of the United Church of Canada, the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, the Presbytery of Ottawa of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa.

Over the years, the OSTS has, in turn, found a home at various church buildings of our sponsoring denominations. OSTS will again offer its courses online via Zoom for the Fall term. We hope to reach a decision by early November as to whether we can safely resume our regular in-person format for the winter term at the premises of the Dominican University College of Ottawa.
